Getting started
First steps for a new school.
Students & admissions
Admitting students, logins, classes and sections.
Add many students at once from Excel
Upload your whole student list from one Excel (CSV) file, with their parent logins, instead of admitting students one by one.
Move many students to another section at once
Shift a group of students from one section to another during the year, for example when you split a large class into A and B.
Fees
Fee setup, assigning fees and collecting payments.
Set up your fee structure
Create your tuition fees for the year with Quick Setup, add one-time fees such as admission, and assign the fees to whole classes at once.
Collect fees from a parent
Take a fee payment at the school counter and print the receipt. Also covers what to do with the months before your school started using SchoolAlgo.
Give a discount or concession
Set up discounts such as sibling or staff-child concessions, give them to the right students, waive a single fee, and remove a discount given by mistake.
Add admission and registration fees for a new student
Give a new student their one-time admission fees and monthly tuition, either while admitting them or afterwards.
See who hasn't paid, and send reminders
Find every student with unpaid fees, download the list, print or send due slips to parents, and switch on the automatic monthly reminder.
Enter old fee payments in bulk with the Collection Sheet
Joined SchoolAlgo mid-session? Record the fees parents already paid in your old software or register, for a whole class or the whole school at once.
See how much fee was collected
Check today's collection, the total for any day or date range, the split by cash and UPI, and download the list of receipts.
Let parents pay fees online
Turn on online fee payment so parents can pay from the Parent app by UPI, bank transfer or a payment gateway, and approve UPI and bank payments.
Unpaid fees from last year
What happens to unpaid fees at the end of the year, and how a school new to SchoolAlgo brings in what students still owed from its old software.
Set up transport (bus) fees
Set up monthly bus fees once, give each stop its fare, and put students on a route. Their bus fee for every month is then added automatically.
Classes, subjects & teachers
Subjects for each class and who teaches them.
Choose the subjects taught in each class
Tick the subjects each class studies. Exams, marks entry, report cards and subject teachers all use this list.
Add many teachers and staff at once from Excel
Upload all your teachers and office staff from one Excel (CSV) file, and download their logins in one go.
Add a teacher and give them a login
Add a new teacher to SchoolAlgo, share their login, make them a class teacher, and give them their subjects.
Staff roles: give each person the right access
Choose a role for each staff member, see what each built-in role allows, and make your own version of a role with different permissions.
Assign subject teachers so they can enter marks
Choose which teacher teaches each subject in each section. A teacher can enter exam marks only for the subjects given to them here.
Give teachers access to classes and sections
Decide which classes and sections each teacher can work with, from one subject in one section up to every class in the school.
Exams & report cards
Marks entry and report cards.
Set up an exam
Create an exam for one or more classes, decide how each subject is marked (written, practical, internal assessment, pass marks), add the exam dates, and lock the marks when teachers are done.
Exam datesheet and admit cards
Print the exam datesheet for the notice board, send it to parents, and print admit cards, with options to release them to parents and to hold back cards for unpaid fees.
Enter exam marks (for teachers)
Type each student's marks for your subject, mark absentees, and submit the marks for review when you are done.
